#1  [SECURITY] [BUG] Erasing alternate data streams
- ----------------------------------------------------------------------

  AFFECTS:

  Windows NT 4.0 / 2000 / XP operating systems with NTFS file system.

  DESCRIPTION:

  There is a bug in Eraser v5.3 that causes the last alternate data
  stream for a file to not be erased.

  WORKAROUND:

  Do not use alternate data streams, or erase unused disk space after
  removing files with alternate data streams.

  SOLUTION:

  This problem is already fixed in the source code release, updated
  "eraser.dll" binary is available at:

   http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/eraser/eraser53_fix1.zip (170K)

  However, erasing alternate data streams may not work reliably even
  with this update.

#2  [BUG] Background entropy polling
- ----------------------------------------------------------------------

  AFFECTS:

  Anyone who has enabled background entropy polling and is using the
  Eraser Launcher ("eraserl.exe").

  DESCRIPTION:

  Entropy polling hangs for several seconds when starting the
  application with "-silent" parameter (window hidden).

  WORKAROUND:

  Either disable background entropy polling (default) or don't use
  the "-silent" parameter with "eraserl.exe".
